緬甸選舉委員會11日宣布，在野黨「全國民主聯盟」（NLD）領袖翁山蘇姬贏得仰光高穆選區的國會議員席次。翁山蘇姬寫信給現任總統登盛、軍方領導人以及國會議長，要求召開全國和解會議。
緬甸選委會11日公布國會下議院選舉進一步結果。翁山蘇姬領導的NLD在新公布的61席中拿下56席。此外選委會宣布，翁山蘇姬贏得5萬4676票，當選國會議員。但選委會並未公布關於敗選執政黨候選人的細節，也沒有說明合格選民人數。
NLD在目前已開出的聯邦議會和下議院議席，已經拿下近9成的開放競選席次，取得了籌組政府所需的多數優勢，勝券在握。
NLD公開翁山蘇姬這封信的內容：「人民在11月8日的選舉和平地表達了民意…所以，本著國家和解的精神，我希望與你們會談。請在下周安排時間」。NLD表示，在該黨篤定贏得國會大選後，緬甸總統登盛已向他們釋出訊息，承諾推動「和平轉移政權」，並且透過發言人向翁山蘇姬表達祝賀之意。
NLD聲明表示，已經收到代表總統登盛的資訊部長耶塔所傳達的訊息。登盛在訊息中寫道，「根據聯邦選舉委員會公布的選舉結果，謹致上祝賀恭喜，全國民主聯盟在競逐國會席次的選舉中領先」。
訊息也提到，政府將根據法定時程，推動政權和平轉移。耶塔11日稍早表示，緬甸政府已經同意翁山蘇姬所提的召開全國和解會議的要求，俟正式結果公布，選委會任務完成後，再召開會議。耶塔還透過臉書重申，登盛總統本月6日已表明，政府和軍隊將尊重大選結果。
至11日下午3時，緬甸選委會已公布的506名當選議員名單中，NLD獲得445席，執政黨「聯合團結發展黨」（USDP）僅獲得38席，其他黨派和獨立候選人獲得23席。
